The Artisan X-Frame Edition represents the pinnacle of the Forest & Fable collection. By moving away from industrial steel to 100% Solid European Oak, that provides a level of architectural warmth and continuity.

The Science of the Build

Building a herringbone top that stays true over time is a science, not just a craft.

Hand-Milled Parquet: We use 20mm thick Solid European Oak, hand-making every single piece in-house.

Tongue & Groove Joinery: We use traditional interlocking joinery for minimal movement and maximum durability.

40mm Signature Top: The finished top is a chunky 40mm thick designed to stay flat, tight, and true for decades.

Seasonal Bracing: Because wood is a living material, we’ve spent years refining our internal bracing techniques to allow the timber to breathe without losing its shape.

The All-Oak Foundation

We’ve replaced our standard steel legs with heavyweight, architectural Solid Oak X-Frame legs. Milled from the same high-grade timber as the tabletop, these legs create a seamless, organic aesthetic.

The Finish: Both the table and legs are hand finished in your choice of our 8 signature hard-wax oils for a perfectly coordinated, high-end look.

Matching Bench: Available as a complete set. Benches feature matching X-frame legs and the same signature finish as your table.

The Forest & Fable Experience

Family-Proof Finish: We hand-apply professional-grade hard wax oils. Whether it’s a drink spill or a Sunday roast, your table is protected by a finish that is as durable as it is beautiful.

White-Glove Installation: I personally deliver and install the majority of my tables. I will bring the piece into your home, fit the oak legs, and ensure it’s rock-solid before I leave.

Lead Time: 2–4 weeks (Handmade to order).

Where I Deliver: I personally deliver to the vast majority of Mainland UK.
