Care Guide
The "Forest & Fable" Care Guide
Your Furniture is built for a lifetime. Here’s how to keep it that way.
Solid European Oak is a hardy material, but it’s a living product that reacts to its environment. To keep your furniture looking flawless, follow these workshop-approved tips:
The Golden Rule: Use coasters. While our hardwax oil is water-resistant, leaving a wet glass or a hot pan directly on the oak for hours can eventually mark the finish.
Cleaning: Use a damp (not soaking) microfiber cloth. Avoid "multi-surface" supermarket sprays, the harsh chemicals can strip the protective oils over time. A little natural beeswax or a dedicated wood polish can bring the grain back to life if it starts to look a little tired. Just ensure the polish is silicone free to protect the integrity of the hardwax oil finish.
Climate Control: Wood breathes. Try to keep the table away from direct contact with high output radiators or wood burners, as extreme heat can cause the timber to move more than necessary. Oak is naturally resistant to moisture, but it isn't a fan of prolonged exposure to high humidity or damp environments, it will make the wood want to move.
Refreshing the Finish (Tables): Depending on use, we recommend a light top-up of hardwax oil every 24 months or so to keep the protection strong. It takes 10 minutes and keeps the wood sealed for another two years.
