The Fable Herringbone Dining Table is hand-built in our Nottinghamshire workshop.

This is a statement piece designed to anchor your home. It’s heavy, it’s character-rich, and it’s built to survive everything from the quietest morning coffee to the chaos of family life.

The "Forest & Fable" Standard

Interlocking Tongue & Groove: Solid oak is a living material that wants to move. We use a precision tongue-and-groove system to lock every piece together, ensuring the pattern stays tight and the surface stays flat for decades.

40mm Solid Top: We use 20mm solid oak parquet on a matching solid foundation, giving you a chunky, substantial 40mm profile. 

The Finish: Finished with natural hard wax oil. It really highlights the beautiful natural grain of the oak, & provides a rock-solid shield against spills and sticky fingers.

Industrial X-Style Legs: We pair the warmth of wood with heavy-duty steel legs. They provide a solid foundation that balances rustic charm with a clean, industrial edge.

Seating & Size Guide

100cm-120cm: Comfortably seats 4.

120-140cm: Fits 4 easily, can squeeze 6.

160cm-180cm: The "sweet spot" family 6-seater.

The Optional Matching Bench

Complete the look with a matching Herringbone Bench. We design our benches to be Nesting Compatible they are sized to tuck neatly between the table legs when not in use, saving you floor space in smaller dining areas.

Materials: Same 40mm solid construction and steel legs.

Width: Optimized to match your chosen table length.

Lead Times & Delivery

Handmade for You & Free UK Shipping: Every table is hand crafted & made to order. Current lead time is 2–4 weeks.

The Delivery Process

Personal Installation: I will bring the table into your home, fit the legs, and ensure it’s rock-solid. No IKEA-induced stress for you, just a finished table ready for dinner.

Lead Time: Currently 2–4 weeks. I’ll keep you updated with workshop photos as your table progresses.

Scheduling: Once the build is finished, I’ll be in touch to arrange a delivery date and time that actually works for your schedule.

I personally deliver to the vast majority of Mainland UK.

Scottish Highlands & Isles: Please drop me a message before ordering. I can often make it work, but I’ll need to give you a bespoke delivery estimate first.

Northern Ireland: Unfortunately, I am currently unable to offer delivery to Northern Ireland.
